This is how these guys "spar"... Make no doubt about it, they're hitting each other and getting hit and doing both with great stick control and care for each other.

To get to this level of, they've all worked very hard and I'm sure have suffered their bumps and bruises, both of which are temporary but the skill developed through this practice is permanent !

This is a different style than we practice and represents just a portion of the “big picture” but still impressive nevertheless.

Because there were a few complaints of this page loading slowly, we've trimmed some things off from a couple of years ago and hope that this will speed things up for those that are "connection challenged"

Aloha Ohana,

I want to take the time to remind everyone of what an exceptional representation of THE PIT MALIBU you all are.
Each and every one of you has your strengths and while some of you have been at the school since we opened and some of you may be more recent additions, from where I sit, I see each and every one of you helping each other to achieve each of your goals.  When you're wearing a school shirt, flying a school sticker on your car and just talking about where you train, I hope that you are as proud as I am to for you to be representing THE PIT MALIBU.

With THE PIT MALIBU now wrapping up our third year and we're looking forward to continuing to evolve, grow, learn and represent what is possible in this new era of martial arts training.  Our goal is not to try and be different than other places but the facts are that what we are building is something special and with the standards that all of you have now adopted and run with, the sky's the limit on what we can do with this.

As great as things are now, I know that what THE PIT MALIBU has in it's future and what I see for us is something that I've believed in for more than half my life, longer than many of our students have been alive.  From my very first introduction to you on what is important to me and what I will & will not compromise in, like you, I have had to make a commitment, not only to myself, my instructor and my family, but also to you.  Together, over this past year, we've worked hard to head in this direction and like you, I've done this with a strong belief in what we're doing and a strong belief in who I'm doing it with.

Mahalo to you all for playing your very important role in THE PIT MALIBU's health and growth and congratulations in the accomplishments that each and everyone of you have achieved, both individually and as a team..

I'm proud to call you all my Haumana,
Kumu Rick

Different than the videos of all the different competitors that were made by one of the schools up north and are on the latest news page,  these two videos are highlights of ONLY PIT MALIBU students.  The other ones are still very cool to watch though.

Enjoy...

These are relatively old videos that I've come across over the years that were done by John Bishop.  Again, alot of good history on our system's roots and information that many, even to date, have never known.  **THESE MAY HAVE MARGINAL LANGUAGE FOR CHILDREN**

If your ego is fragile, then do not watch these clips.
If, on the other hand, you want to see some cool stuff that we have done or will do in class than check them out and let me know what you think.

Two of these links won't allow me to embed them but you can click them to watch.

Crazy pull-ups and upper body stuff that you too can do at the park.
